Patrick Tse Yin, born Tse Ka-yuk, passed away at 89 on July 16, 2026, after pneumonia and later-life health challenges.
Family members said Patrick Tse passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones, and they requested privacy while handling funeral and memorial arrangements.
Known affectionately as “Sei Gor,” Patrick Tse began acting in the 1950s and built a seven-decade career with more than 200 films.
Patrick Tse worked as an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter, helping shape Hong Kong cinema through a long period of major creative growth.
In 2022, Patrick Tse received a Best Actor award from the Hong Kong Film Critics Society for the film “Time.”
Patrick Tse was also known as the parent of Nicholas Tse and Jennifer Tse, and many fans and colleagues have shared condolences.
